Residential Program for the M.A. in Pastoral Counseling: Crisis Response & Trauma
Help meet the needs of individuals who have experienced trauma, disaster, or other crises. With your Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling – Crisis Response & Trauma degree from Liberty University, you’ll learn how to counsel and treat those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, combat-related trauma, and acute stress. You’ll also explore how different types of crises affect a person’s body, mind, emotions, and relationship with God and others.
With this degree, you’ll have the opportunity to customize your crisis response and trauma electives in areas that will be most useful to your ministry. Choose to receive general crisis and first responder training so you are prepared to help during a disaster or receive training in P.T.S.D. and combat-related trauma so that you can assist veterans and their families.
Learn from professors who have years of experience in licensed professional counseling and/or pastoral counseling and ministry. Many of our faculty members currently hold professional positions in secular, ministry, and agency-based settings.
Please note that while the crisis response and trauma area of study may allow you to apply for some Christian counseling certifications, the Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling is not designed to fulfill any requirements for state-licensed professional counseling. You can view Liberty University’s licensure-track Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree for more information about counseling licensure.
