About the Liberty University Rawlings School of Divinity

In 1973 Dr. Jerry Falwell, Sr. envisioned a place for men and women to receive graduate level, Christ-centered education. The Liberty University Rawlings School of Divinity is home to over 8,000 students both residentially and online, and is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The Rawlings School of Divinity provides Christ-centered education and is committed to academic excellence with a focus on equipping the whole person for local and global ministry. Divinity students have the opportunity to study under some of the world’s leading evangelical professors and have access to all the facilities of the largest private, nonprofit, four-year college in the country, Liberty University.

The Rawlings School of Divinity offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs including Ph.D., D.Min., M.Div., and Th.M. Students can choose from a variety of specializations, including worship studies, community chaplaincy, and pastoral ministries. Divinity Professors believe the fundamentals of Christian faith, including the inerrancy of Scripture and biblical morality. Whether your focus is evangelism, leadership, or biblical studies, the Rawlings School of Divinity will prepare you for kingdom work.

Student Life

The Rawlings School of Divinity fosters a community dedicated to ministering to the social, spiritual, and academic needs of the Lynchburg area. Thus, students engage in service opportunities through Convocation and the local church.

Residential students have access to Liberty’s recreational facilities such as the LaHaye Recreation and Fitness Center, David's Place, and Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre. Student can sign up for intramural sports and attend productions at the new Tower Theater. Student Activities provides more resources for the residential Divinity student.
