Since its founding in 1971, Liberty University students, faculty, staff, and alumni have changed the moral and ethical course of America by taking a stand for biblical principles. As the next election quickly approaches, the importance of voting and praying for our nation’s future are prominent topics on campus. During this time, Liberty is encouraging the entire community to cast votes for candidates based on their support of biblical values. Less emphasis is being placed on individual contestants and political parties, and more on who will lead America to remain one nation under God.
Through a recently launched ad campaign, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) is promoting a similar message. Graham is publicly calling America back to God and prayer and seeking to draw attention to moral issues that have increasingly become part of our nation’s political dialog. The following message is the focus of Graham’s campaign and can be found on advertisements in many national publications:
On November 6, the day before my 94th birthday, our nation will hold one of the most critical elections in my lifetime. We are at a crossroads and there are profound moral issues at stake. I strongly urge you to vote for candidates who support the biblical definition of marriage between a man and woman, protect the sanctity of life, and defend our religious freedoms. The Bible speaks clearly on these crucial issues. Please join me in praying for America, that we will turn our hearts back toward God.
Maintaining the vision of its founder, Dr. Jerry Falwell, Sr., Liberty University develops Christ-centered men and women with the values, knowledge, and skills essential to impact the world. As a community of individuals who are committed and prepared to make an impact, Liberty supports the message of Billy Graham and emphasizes the importance of voting for biblical values above all else on Nov. 6.
