While several Liberty University sports teams now host an annual midnight game, the men’s lacrosse team started the tradition. Its Midnight Mayhem game against the University of Florida on Friday drew nearly 5,000 fans to the Liberty Lacrosse Field. Liberty (6-3) dominated the Gators (6-4) by a score of 18-6, extending their home winning streak to 22 games. The Flames — currently No. 18 in the MCLA Division I national rankings — have gone undefeated at the Liberty Lacrosse Field since April 10, 2012. (Read the full recap of Friday’s game.)
Liberty will look to extend its home win streak when it faces Virginia Tech on April 15 at 7 p.m., a game that will likely have a SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) regular season title on the line.
Men’s lacrosse is one of 35 teams competing in 19 different sports in Liberty’s thriving Club Sports program.
