Assistant Professor
Professor Bovard is a native of Hickory, North Carolina. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry at Liberty University, he pursued an MDiv there in Biblical Studies. He is currently completing his PhD in Christian Theology (Old Testament) at McMaster Divinity College in Hamilton, Ontario. His dissertation focuses on Jeremiah’s use of the natural order in his poetic oracles, but his research interests include OT prophetic books, wisdom literature, and Israelite history. He is currently teaching classes on Old Testament Survey, Hermeneutics, and Old Testament Backgrounds. Professor Bovard has a passion for teaching the Old Testament in a way that leads to a deeper knowledge of and love for God.
