In the Midst of Our Anticipation

What are you looking forward to doing in May 2014?  Do you have a huge life event that you are celebrating?  Are you graduating from high school or college?  Are you starting a new job soon?  Are you working at a summer camp?  Are you getting married?  Are you taking a long-anticipated family vacation?

What are you looking forward to doing?

In the midst of our anticipation, here is some encouragement for all of us to remain focused.

  • Matthew 22:36-40, "36Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”  37And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  38This is the great and first commandment.  39And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
  • Matthew 5:14-16, "14 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.   Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
  • Matthew 6:19-21, "19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
  • Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."

Let's celebrate with our families, friends and classmates.  Let us also continue to be focused on our calling.

God bless.
