Help for the Hurting

Friends, we have an opportunity to help the hurting in our online community.  There are online students and others who are fearing an upcoming test, a job interview, a medical procedure or have recently gone through a difficult challenge.  Let's take a moment to remind each other of Jesus' promises and love.

I'll begin:

1 Timothy 2:5-6 says, "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,  who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time."

  •      This verse encourages me as I am reminded that Jesus is my mediator.  I can speak with Jesus anytime and anywhere and He speaks to the Father on my behalf.  Jesus alone has improved my dialogue* and standing with the Father.

Matthew 11:19 says, "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' "

  • I am reminded that Jesus wants to fellowship with me, a sinner.  Who am I that Jesus would want to spend time with me?  Apparently, I am something special.  You are too.

Please share a verse with your online community and let's point each other to Jesus.

God bless.

Ted Whitney
