Walk in Love as Christ loved us
Study these passages with me:
Jesus abounded in grace. 1 Timothy 1:14, "The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus."
Jesus shows us compassion. Mark 6:34, "When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So He began teaching them many things."
Jesus demonstrated love to us. Ephesians 5:1-2, "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Jesus is the picture of humility. Read Philippians 2. Here are verses 5-8:
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
The challenge at hand is to demonstrate Christ in all we do.
- In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul encouraged the readers to "be like me, as I am in Christ."
- Philippians 1:9, "And this is my prayer that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight."
- 1 Thessalonians 3:12, "May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you."
Today, let's demonstrate Christ's love to a lost world.
