Tyler Falwell sets goals for Liberty University Alumni Relations

Tyler Falwell was named Liberty University’s new Director of Alumni Relations earlier this fall.

In a recent interview, Falwell, a 2006 Liberty graduate, spoke passionately about his lifelong ties to the University and his desire to build an alumni relations program that helps thousands of alumni reconnect to the school and each other.

“Liberty has always been a University that produces friendships that last a lifetime,” Falwell said. “We want to have a program that helps former Liberty students to remain in touch with one another.”

Falwell, who was working as a development officer in the Alumni Relations Office, was promoted to his new job by Vice President of Development Tom Arnold.

“He knows the school inside and out, having grown up here,” Arnold said.

Tyler Falwell is a cousin of both Liberty founder, the Rev. Jerry Falwell Sr. and current Liberty President and Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr.

Falwell, who is working on his MBA at Liberty, is an active member of the Lynchburg business community, where his grandfather, the late Calvin Falwell, initiated and grew many companies over the years.

Tyler Falwell was recently named minority owner of the Lynchburg Hillcats, a minor league baseball team founded by his grandfather. The Hillcats play on Calvin Falwell field.
