Head coach Jesse Castro said wins against The Apprentice School (5) and Middle Tennessee State University (12) helped push Liberty toward the top.
Currently, the program has more than 40 members. Castro has high expectations of taking home the championship trophy in March.
“It is our desire to bring honor to our university through putting out an excellent product,” he said.
The Flames travel to Messiah College this Saturday, Jan. 21, to Dalton, Ga. Jan. 27-28 and to Edinboro, Pa. on Feb. 11. Their only home meet of the season is Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m., when they will host the Mid-Atlantic Conference. Nationals are scheduled for March 8-10 in Knoxville, Tenn.
