Students to hear from nation’s top business leaders at CEO Summit 2023

Liberty University will host the CEO Summit 2023: Networking the Nations on Oct. 10-12, providing students with the unique opportunity to network with and learn from many prominent figures in business, politics, entertainment, and a range of other fields.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will speak at the Future CEO Dinner on Oct. 10.

Keynote speakers include U.S. Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Rand Paul (Ky.), Lowe’s CEO Marvin Ellison, Coca-Cola Consolidated Chairman and CEO J. Frank Harrison III, former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former CKE Restaurants (Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr.) CEO Andy Puzder, former CBS reporter Lara Logan, and Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania Elsie S. Kanza.

Most of the panels will take place in the Towns Auditorium in the School of Business. The summit is open to all Liberty students and faculty. Registration is not required for events in the Business School Auditorium (Liberty University gold name badges or valid Flames passes will be accepted for entry). Registration is required for the Dinners at the link below.

Tuesday’s session will include the “Dialogue with Africa,” which will feature appearances by several African ambassadors and major governmental and business leaders in Africa and will include two panels on energy and agriculture. That night, Pompeo will address students at the Future CEO Dinner.

On Wednesday, guests will hear from a Women’s CEO panel, as well as other panels on artificial intelligence and the Supreme Court outlook for 2024. That morning, producers from the hit Christian series “The Chosen” and actors and producers Kevin and Sam Sorbo will join other media experts for a cinematic arts panel at the Jump Theatre.

Thursday’s panels will focus on national security, China policy, second chance ministries with NFL greats, and ESG investment, and will also include the event’s major CEO panels.

The annual CEO Summit seeks to provide students with access to Liberty’s extensive network of world-class CEOs, government leaders, innovators, and influencers. Students will have the opportunity to build relationships with fellow students and alumni, engage in discussion on major issues in a variety of disciplines, and interact with facilitators who provide a Christian perspective to leadership. In the past, students have obtained jobs and internships from networking at the summit.

Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania Elsie S. Kanza will participate in the “Dialogue with Africa” discussion on Oct. 10.

“There is no better place for young Christians to learn from and network with Christian CEOs than this summit,” said Dr. Dave Brat, vice-provost for Engagement and Public Relations. “We encourage students from all degree programs to come to all panels. This will be a highlight of their semester, listening as these leaders share their expertise, personal career paths and their faith journeys.”
