Liberty University lights up Freedom Tower in Ukraine’s colors

The colors blue and yellow shone bright from the Freedom Tower at Liberty University on Friday night, following a campus prayer time for the country of Ukraine.

“Tonight we are lighting our Freedom Tower as a reminder to our students and our Lynchburg community to pray for Ukraine,” said Liberty President Jerry Prevo. “In the midst of so much danger and chaos in the world, we are asking for the peace that only Christ can bring. We are praying for Ukraine and take comfort in knowing that Jesus Christ has overcome the world.”

During Friday morning’s Convocation, students prayed for peace for the country, for students with ties to the Ukraine, and for family members and military affected by the conflict. Students also gathered for a special prayer time in the Worley Prayer Chapel on campus on Friday afternoon.
