Liberty on the Move in Nashville

Melissa Small, director of Alumni Relations and Marketing at Liberty University, speaks at the launch of a new alumni chapter in Louisville, Ky., in June.

Liberty University Alumni Relations will host its 13th chapter launch this Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.

Several members of the Liberty community are travelling to Nashville as part of the new “Liberty on the Move” initiative to bring LU leaders and staff face-to-face with alumni and other Liberty supporters. Representatives from Liberty’s Development, Recruitment and Alumni Relations offices will be present for the chapter launch.

“There are many people connected with Liberty who we want to build relationships or maintain relationships, with and this is the best way to personally connect with them,” said Melissa Small, director, Alumni Relations and Marketing for Liberty University.

The Nashville Alumni Chapter launch, taking place from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Judson Baptist Church, is the 10th chapter launch this summer. (For a full list of chapters, go to www.liberty.edu/alumni).

Small, a 2002 Liberty graduate, said the Alumni Relations office has connected face-to-face with more than 500 alumni this summer. She said she has enjoyed swapping stories on their experiences at Liberty and “seeing alumni get connected with each other and the university once again.”

After the Nashville launch, the next chapter to get off the ground is the Lynchburg Alumni Chapter, with a free on-campus event planned on Aug. 1 for all alumni living in the 245 zip code. Click here for more information on the “245 Initiative” event.
