Ackerman, Billingsley make magazine’s ‘Most Influential’ list

Dr. Beth Ackerman, Associate Dean of Education at Liberty, and Charles Billingsley, worship leader at Thomas Road Baptist Church, were selected as two of Lynchburg, Va.’s, “15 Most Influential People Under the Hill,” in the July/August edition of “Lynchburg Living” magazine.

Ackerman has more than a decade of experience in working with children with learning disabilities, mental retardation and emotional disabilities as a behavior specialist, family support provider, teacher, and administrator. She currently teaches undergraduate and graduate level special education courses at Liberty.

Billingsley was the lead vocalist for the award-winning Christian band NewSong before launching his solo career. As an artist-in-residence at Liberty, he works with students in the Center for Worship and the Department of Ministry Teams.
