Extreme acrobatics and BMX shows will awe audiences at this year’s Winterfest

Each year Liberty University’s Winterfest rings in the New Year with top Christian artists, speakers and performers from around the world. This year, the ever-popular music festival and winter retreat features two awe-inspiring acts sure to get your attention.

Helping to kick off the festivities on Dec. 30, Real Encounter’s Brent Longenecker will astonish the crowd with his acrobatic skills. The one-man show appeals to audiences with tumbling and strength balancing and various tricks, such as riding a 10-foot unicycle and climbing a freestanding ladder.

With the mission of transforming the lives of the emerging generation, Real Encounter travels to various schools and assemblies, using its talents to glorify God. The ministry’s Real Encounter Crusade is one of its most effective events during its tour, culminating with a community-wide outreach program.

Also in the New Year’s Eve lineup, Outcast BMX will combine the sport’s incredible intensity with the message of Jesus Christ. The group consists of some of the top pro and amateur BMX riders in the nation. Throughout the year, Outcast BMX travels to cities around the country, executing back flips, superman seat grabs and other extreme stunts. In addition to the group’s amazing aerial feats, members will present life-changing testimonies as they present the Gospel to students.

Winterfest runs from Dec. 30-Jan. 1. Artists scheduled to perform on the Vines Center stage include Jeremy Camp, Hawk Nelson, Disciple, Skillet, Sanctus Real and a host of other top performers. Dynamic speakers such as Clayton King, David Nasser and the Rev. Eric Timm will also be in appearance.

Apart from seeing great performances, participants can also take advantage of everything LU has to offer, including basketball, ice skating and swimming.
