Students treated to free kettle corn during finals week

December 8, 2008 : University Advancement staff

As Christmas quickly approaches, students are receiving a special gift during finals week from Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. and his wife, Becki. Free bags of kettle corn are being distributed this week outside the Arthur S. DeMoss Learning Center.

The chancellor and his wife wanted to show their appreciation for the students as they take their exams and head home for the holidays. The students were treated to free ice cream earlier this year during finals.

Becki, who enjoys the taste of kettle corn herself, said students can likely look forward to more finals week freebies in semesters to come.

“Now that we’ve done it twice, I think it will be expected,” she said. “I think it might become a tradition.”
