Friday, Feb. 13:
Robert Morris 4 - Liberty University 7
Liberty got off to an extremely quick start as defenseman Dave Semenyna scored only 28 seconds into the game. From there the first period would go back and forth in terms of scoring. With the game tied at one, Mike Lane scored his first goal of the year to give LU the lead. Robert Morris quickly tied the game again, but Semenyna found the net again with an unassisted goal. Six minutes later Joe Smith received a pass from Ryan Walter to give Liberty a 4 to 2 lead going into the second period. Jonathan Chung found his way onto the score-sheet with 6 minutes left in the second to give the Flames a 3-goal lead. Then, 4 minutes into the third, Adam Docksteader lit the lamp with his 11th of the season to essentially put the game out of reach for Robert Morris. Five minutes later, Dave Semenyna scored a powerplay goal that would give him the hat trick. Goalie Colin Way faced 41 shots and stopped 38 of them. Zac Bauman led the way in hits with 11. He also had 2 assists.
Saturday, Feb. 14:
Robert Morris 2 – Liberty University 5
This game didn’t start quite as quickly as the first, but Liberty still managed to score first when Jonathan Chung beat the goalie with 4 minutes left in the first period. Then in the second period, Kyle Dodgson scored his 17th goal of the year to give LU the 2-0 lead. However, by the time the period was over Robert Morris managed to tie the game up at 2 with 2 powerplay goals. Less than 4 minutes into the third, Dave Semenyna scored what would end up being the game winner. Later, Ben Shaw scored his first goal of the year midway through the period to put the Flames up by 2. Chung, then, put the icing on the cake with his second of the game with 7 minutes left in the game. Colin Way was phenomenal again in net as he stopped 40 of 42 shots that went his way. Zac Bauman led in hits, yet again, with 8, and Dodgson had the most assists with 2.
