Guest Hooder Information

LUCOM policy (pdf) permits student doctors to be hooded by a guest hooder, at the LUCOM Hooding Ceremony. This individual must be an immediate family member (i.e., parent, sibling, or spouse) and hold either an MD or DO degree. Please note that you may not request to be hooded by a specific LUCOM faculty member.

You may request a guest hooder by completing the Guest Hooder Survey distributed by the Office of the Registrar at LUCOM. All requests will be reviewed by the Dean.

If approved, your guest hooder will receive more information about their role, once the review process is complete.

Guest hooders should wear business professional attire. They are not required to wear regalia, though they are welcome to, if they already possess it. LUCOM will not provide regalia to guest hooders.

Please visit the Commencement Regalia page for information related to student regalia purchases or rentals.

Diploma Information

LUCOM graduates will receive three (3) diplomas; two (2) physical copies, which will be mailed, and an electronic version. The dimensions of the printed diplomas are:

  • 11” x 8.5” (landscape orientation)
  • 17” x 13” (landscape orientation)

Please consider the above dimensions when ordering diploma frames.

The physical copies of your diploma will be mailed to the address provided on your Degree Completion Application. If you need to change your diploma mailing address, please email the Office of the Registrar at LUCOM at LUCOMRegistrar@liberty.edu.

You will have access to the secure electronic version of your diploma via CeDiploma within a week or two of degree conferral.

Your degree will be conferred no later than four weeks after the final degree requirement has been met. Students will not receive a diploma until all degree requirements are fulfilled. Students must complete all degree requirements by December 31 to be allowed to participate in Commencement/Senior Week activities of the same calendar year.

Any questions regarding diplomas should be directed to the Office of the Registrar at LUCOM at LUCOMRegistrar@liberty.edu.
