The Commencement ceremony is a formal ceremony that is held in recognition of all current graduates. This ceremony includes a graduate and faculty procession, a Commencement address by a special guest speaker, a charge to the graduates, and other special presentations.
Free shuttle service will be provided during Commencement activities. Shuttles will provide service to Williams Stadium from most parking areas and will service all bus stops labeled Commencement Shuttle Pick-up. Shuttles will also be provided to those requiring assistance in getting from Williams Stadium to the Degree Presentation Ceremonies. Following the Degree Presentation Ceremonies, shuttle service will be provided back to all major parking areas, as needed.
Special shuttle and transportation services will be provided to patrons needing additional support at the designated handicap parking area in the Speakman parking lot, behind the LU Barnes and Noble Bookstore.
Childcare will be available during the Commencement ceremony for children ages 5 and under. Parents can come to the Thomas Road Baptist Church Nursery and Liberty Christian Academy Early Learning Center to utilize this service. Childcare will open at 7 a.m. Lunch will not be provided for the children. Parents should have a working and charged mobile phone in order to be reached in case of an emergency.
Reserved handicap parking for graduates and attendees will be available in the Speakman lot which is adjacent to Williams Stadium and behind the Liberty University Bookstore.
Handicap seating will be at the top of the concourse level at Williams Stadium. Should a family member or friend need assistance with seating, it is suggested they arrive at Commencement no later than 8:15 a.m.
Sign Language interpreters will be available to the right side of the stadium when facing the stage. There will be an area of reserved seats located in the bleachers on the stage side of this section. If a guest needs to sit in this section, enough seating will be provided for their family members to sit near them. Please locate a staff member to be directed to this section on the day of the ceremony.
