What Is the Summer Reading Challenge?
Liberty University Online Academy’s annual Summer Reading Challenge is a unique event that allows students of all ages to compete with their peers for exciting prizes.
The Summer Reading Challenge runs from June 1 to August 31 each year.
Check out our suggested reading lists for each grade level below:
How Does It Work?
It’s easy – it just takes 3 steps to participate!
Pick Books to Read
Step 1:
Have fun picking books to read! Not sure where to start? See the Summer Reading Lists above.
Students are not required to adhere to the provided reading lists. These lists are a resource to help you choose if you aren’t sure what to read!
Create a Reading Log
Step 2:
Create a reading log using a notebook, spreadsheet, or whatever else works best for you. As you finish books, record the full name of the book, the author, how many pages you read, and the date you completed the book.
Submit the Online Form
Step 3:
Students will need to submit the Summer Reading Challenge Online Form to document their reading.
No entries before August 31 will be accepted. Only entries submitted through this form are eligible to be considered for the prize. Please see our Official Rules document for more information.
What Are the Prizes?
Everyone who reads at least 1,000 pages will win a special LUOA prize!
The top reader (the student with the most total pages read) from each grade level (elementary, middle, and high school) will also receive a $75 Amazon gift card!
