How to Claim Your Account
A Student Account is needed in order to access your child’s Liberty email address, log into their curriculum, and more. A Parent Account can be used to complete Financial Check-In, access a personalized Student Onboarding Checklist, and carry out other important tasks.

When claiming your child’s Student Account, you will be entering his or her information. When claiming the Parent Account, you will be entering your own information. Be sure to read the following instructions before filling out the Claim Account form:
How to Fill Out Your LU ID Number
To claim your child’s Student Account, you will need their student ID number – and to claim your Parent Account, you will need your own ID number.
- You will receive these ID numbers via email communication. If you are not able to locate them, call us at (866) 418-8741 for assistance.
- When entering an ID number in the Claim Account form, be sure not to copy and paste the ID; rather, manually type in the full ID, including the “L.”
How to Fill Out Your Social Security Number
The Claim Account form will ask for your/your student’s social security number – but most students and parents do not have a social security number stored in our system. To fill in this part of the form, you will do one of the following:
- If you/your student do not have an active Liberty University application on file, simply enter 9 zeros in the social security field on the form.
- If you/your student do have an active Liberty University application on file, use your/your student’s actual social security number.

If you are ever locked out of your account and need to reset your password, you will need another method to verify your account. For that reason, you will be prompted to set up an alternate email address and/or phone number when claiming your account.
Please provide one or both forms of authentication so that you can easily reset your password if you’re ever locked out.
