What Is the Summer Reading Initiative?
We encourage parents/guardians to spend time setting reading goals for their students and find ways to make it fun! Maybe it’s a special trip you will take together, or a special prize or treat- whatever it is, we encourage you to make it special and make it fun!
*This is not a formal LUOA competition, and prizes are not awarded at the end.

Pick Books to Read
Step 1:Have fun picking books to read! Not sure where to start? See the Summer Reading Lists above.
Students are not required to adhere to the provided reading lists. These lists are a resource to help you choose if you aren’t sure what to read!

Step 2:Need a place to record what you are reading? Check out our printable digital bookmark! As you finish books, record the full name of the book, the author, how many pages you read, and the date you completed the book.

Step 3:Make it fun and memorable! We encourage parents/guardians to spend time setting reading goals for their students and find ways to make it fun.
