We’ve broken these requirements down into various categories of students. Some of these categories overlap – for instance, your student may be homeschooled and a Virginia resident – so be sure to check out all of the sections that apply to your student!
Please note: Dual Enrollment students also need to meet the minimum requirements listed below. Additionally, there are some requirements that are unique to Dual Enrollment admission. Visit our Dual Enrollment page for more information.

Students who enroll full time in LUOA must submit official academic records that show the student’s most up-to-date progress.Academic records are not required for part-time K-12 students.
Academic records may include transcripts, report cards, or a combination of the two. Your Student Onboarding Checklist will provide a more detailed list of the documents needed for your student.
To be considered official, the student’s academic records must be sent directly from the previous school to LUOA. If you would like us to request your student’s academic records from their previous school on your behalf, be sure to fill out the Previous Enrollment Form.
Each grade level also has additional requirements for academic records to be considered official:
K-8th Grade
If high school credit has not been awarded, an official signature or embossed seal is not required for K-8 academic records.
If high school credit has been awarded, a signature or seal is required on the academic records to be considered official.
9th-12th Grade
Academic records for grades 9-12 are only considered official if they are signed by a representative from the school administration and/or embossed with the official school seal.

In addition to submitting official academic records (as well as a birth certificate for 11th and 12th graders), students living in the state of Virginia who enroll full time in LUOA will need to submit official copies of health and immunization records or a notarized religious exemption at the time of enrollment in Kindergarten, 7th, and 12th grade.
