Caring for Your Mental and Physical Health at LUCOM
The faculty and staff at Liberty’s College of Osteopathic Medicine care about your mental and physical health.
Student Health Insurance
LUCOM students are required to maintain continuous active health insurance from matriculation through graduation. All students will be enrolled in a LUCOM-sponsored student health insurance plan unless an approved waiver is submitted prior to the start of the academic year. Students who do not receive an approved waiver will be charged for coverage in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
Students who are already covered under an equivalent health insurance plan may apply for a waiver (documentation of coverage will be required) here. For waiver purposes, Virginia Medicaid is not acceptable for clinical students. OMS III and OMS IV students may not waive with any state Medicaid or limited network plans and must have comprehensive coverage throughout the United States to ensure appropriate coverage regardless of rotation location.
International students are covered under the International Student Health Insurance Policy, and do not need to submit a waiver.
Questions regarding the student health policy should be directed to LUCOM Student Health at LUCOMStudentHealth@liberty.edu. Any student policy coverage or claim questions may be directed to Aetna. The student health insurance broker is:
