Christopher Rusk, Ed.D. – Dean
Dr. Rusk holds a master’s in English and a doctorate in education. Dr. Rusk has worked in various teaching roles with learners of all ages — ranging from young children to adults. He has a particular passion for working with international students in ESL settings. As a homeschooling father of 6, Dr. Rusk has many years of experience working with non-traditional forms of education — which has given him the ability to relate to many of the issues facing today’s students and their parents. In his spare time, Dr. Rusk enjoys spending time with his wife, their 4 sons, and 2 daughters. Dr. Rusk and his family reside in Lynchburg, VA.
Cameron Ward – Director of Curriculum
Mr. Ward has a Bachelors in Mathematics from Liberty University as well as a Masters in Teaching and Learning: Leadership from Liberty University. He has worked at LUOA since 2015 in various capacities from a math teacher to the Science Chairman to his current position as the Director of Curriculum which he has held since 2017. Mr. Ward is interested in leveraging project management methods to facilitate the development of cutting-edge curriculum that will make a genuine impact for the Kingdom of God on the lives of students all around the world. Mr. Ward is happily married to Amaris Ward and has two children.
Kelley Niblett – Director of Faculty
Mrs. Niblett is a Georgia native who moved to Lynchburg, VA, in the spring of 2013. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from The Master’s University as well as a Master of Arts in Education from Central Michigan University. For 14 years, she served as the director of an online Christian academy in McDonough, GA. She believes the best part of working for LUOA is being able to meet and help families from around the world. Mrs. Niblett is married to Vance and has 2 sons. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with family and friends, reading, and cheering on the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
Matthew Luckey – Director of Admissions
Mr. Luckey has a Bachelor of Religious Education from Davis College in Johnson City, New York, and a Master of Arts in Religion from The Liberty University Rawlings School of Divinity. He grew up in upstate New York and moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, in 2004. He has a passion for young people and mentoring them through the various transitions in life. He has been a part of the admissions team since 2009 and is excited to see how many families have been able be a part of the LUOA family over the years. In his spare time, he enjoys writing, woodworking, hiking, and spending time with his wife, their 3 daughters, and 2 sons.
