You don’t necessarily have to wait until the next school year to make a change. Pending a review of your student’s records, LUOA allows students to join most courses at designated points during the academic year, including the second quarter, second semester, and fourth quarter.

Missing the beginning of the academic year doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve missed your opportunity to enroll with LUOA. Partial-year courses allow qualifying students to enter most courses later in the school year and complete the portion that remains.

The available course length will depend on when your student enrolls and the results of their records review.

A partial-year course is an LUOA course taken for less than the full academic year. Depending on when your student begins, a partial-year course may cover three-quarters, one-half, or one-quarter of the school year.

This option can be especially helpful for families transitioning to LUOA after the academic year is already underway.

No. Tuition for partial-year courses is prorated based on the course length.

Standard full-year LUOA courses provide up to 41 weeks to complete the academic year, while semester courses provide up to 22 weeks. Partial-year course timelines vary based on the portion of the academic year your student is completing.

Your student should work regularly throughout each course and keep track of their progress and assignment expectations.

Most standard LUOA courses do not have set login times. Students have 24/7 access to their coursework, allowing families to establish a daily schedule that works for them.

Some specialized options, including Enhanced Courses, have additional scheduling and participation requirements. Be sure to review the requirements for your student’s specific courses when enrolling.

Eligible high school students can take college-level courses through LUOA’s Dual Enrollment program in partnership with Liberty University Online. Dual Enrollment gives students an opportunity to begin earning college credit while they are still in high school.

LUOA offers Enhanced Courses for high school students who want additional accountability and interaction with teachers. These courses include weekly recorded teaching and tutorial sessions, assignment deadlines, teacher check-ins, and participation requirements.

Unlike most standard LUOA courses, Enhanced Courses have specific start dates and additional scheduling requirements.
