Course Requirements Checklist
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
HW: Orientation Assignment
This assignment is located within the MyLab Math software in Pearson to allow the student to learn how the program works and how to read and enter answers. It also reviews some of the policies for this class, but there is no real math content.
HW Assignments (27)
The student will complete HW Assignments using the MyLab Math software in Pearson. The student must earn a score of 70% on these exercises before taking any quizzes, Exam Review Assignments, or Exam Assignments that may be present in the same module.
Exam Review Assignments (3)
There is an Exam Review Assignment before each Exam Assignment. Each Exam Review Assignment will only count as 6 points toward the student’s final grade. Each Exam Assignment will remain locked until at least 70% has been earned on the Exam Review Assignment.
Exam Assignments (3)
Using the MyLab Math software in Pearson, the student will take 3 Exam Assignments throughout the course. Exam Assignments are based on the textbook readings, HW Assignments, and module quizzes. For each Exam Assignment, the student must first complete the Exam Review Assignment and earn a score of at least 70%. The Exam Assignment will remain inaccessible until this minimum score is reached. The instructor will provide a password for the student to access each Exam Assignment at the appropriate time. All Exam Assignments are cumulative. All Exam Assignments will have a time limit and allow 1 attempt.
***The student must submit all written work for the Exam Assignment questions in the Written Work Assignments. Exam Assignments submitted without the accompanying work will not be accepted.
Quizzes (5)
Quizzes will be administered through the MyLab Math software in Pearson. Each quiz has questions that will be based on the reading and exercises of the assigned module. There is no time limit for completion. The HW Assignments in each module must be completed first with a score of at least 70% in order to unlock the quiz. Each quiz will contain 10–15 questions and allow 3 attempts, and the highest attempt will count toward the grade. There is a Post-Quiz Review for each quiz. These reviews are not worth points but will help the student review what was missed between quiz attempts.
