Rationale
The course is designed to engage the student in discovery using the various adaptations of the scientific method. Lab exercises leading to discovery cover geology, oceanography and meteorology. Discovery begins with an observation and ends with an experimental result. Discovery is a key aspect of what God created us for. The domains of science and the Bible often overlap and are able to inform one another. This course uniquely leads to discovery in both domains.

Discussion
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for the discussion. The thread must be at least 250-350 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 1 other classmates’ thread. The reply must be at least 100-175 words.
Lab Assignments (8)
Lab Assignments assess student interaction and investigation with the provided Lab Kit materials and tools. Each chapter of the Lab Manual contains Lab Exercises. Credit is given when the student submits the response: “Yes I have completed the lab(s).” There is/are at least 1, and at most 7, Lab Exercise(s) in each Module: Week.
Quiz: Lab Safety
This quiz does not require any studying or preparation before taking it. It simply consists of 10 lab safety statements with which the student must agree or disagree. In order to receive full credit on the quiz, the student must agree with all 10 statements. If the student does not agree with all 10 statements on the quiz, he/she will not be allowed to continue in the course. The quiz allows 3 attempts, with the highest score counting toward the grade. This quiz will have no time limit.
Quizzes (8)
Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned Module: Week. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 40 true/false, multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, ordering, and/or short-answer questions, and will have a time limit of 1 hour. Each quiz allows 2 attempts, with the highest score counting toward the grade.
