Course Description
This course will cover advanced aeronautical knowledge in aerodynamics, regulations, meteorology, aircraft systems, and airspace operations required for the Commercial Pilot Knowledge and Oral examinations. The online course provided under Liberty University’s 141 Air Agency Certificate for AVIA 315.

Rationale
This course will prepare the student to pass the FAA Commercial Pilot written exam with a minimum score of 70%, equip him/her with the knowledge to successfully answer required knowledge subject matter questions during the oral portion of the Commercial Pilot Practical exam, and provide the necessary information to safely employ an aircraft in the National Airspace System at or above FAA Commercial Pilot Practical Test Standards.

Discussion: Class Introductions
Student will submit a 2–3 minute video presentation introducing themselves to their fellow classmates. Specific elements described in the assignment are to be included. This will be a graded assignment and you must reply to at least two other classmate introductions as well.
King Schools Course Assignments (7)
The student will complete weekly assignments within the Cessna/King Schools web-based course. At the end of each section/module within the Cessna/King Schools web-based course, there are questions (multiple-choice, fill in the blank, or short answer). These questions will all be based on the content that was presented to the student within the module: week. The student’s score for this weekly assignment will be based on the percentage of questions answered correctly on the first attempt. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F, G)
Discussions (2)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread of at least 300 words in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion and respond to at least 2 classmates’ threads with replies of at least 100 words. For each thread, the student must support his/her assertions with at least 2 scholarly sources in APA format with sources listed as References at the end of the post and integrate at least 1 biblical principle in the thread. Acceptable sources are course readings, Bible, and peer-reviewed journal articles. (CLO: A, D, F, H)

The student will respond to data provided in the format of essay questions. The response to each question must be at least 150 words. (CLO: A, D, F, H)

Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned Module: Week. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain various questions, allow 1 attempt, and have an assigned time limit. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F, G)
Presentation Project Assignment
The student will complete and submit a narrated PowerPoint Presentation about an aircraft/flight emergency approved by the professor. This PowerPoint will be narrated by the student and should be at least 4 slides including the following: Define the emergency and the appropriate in-flight actions needed, as well as any post flight action required (if any). FAA Written Exam Practice Tests Assignment
FAA Written Practice Tests Assignment: The student will complete three practice exams within the Cessna/King Schools Course. On completion of three successful tests with a score of 90% or better, the student will be issued an endorsement to take the FAA Written Exam. (CLO: C, G)
Schedule FAA Written Exam
Note: Pilots who already hold the respective certificate or rating of this course are not eligible to retake the FAA written exam. Instead of submitting a scheduling confirmation email, pilots who have earned their instrument and/or commercial rating may submit a copy of both sides of their FAA certificate. (CLO: C, G)
FAA Written Exam Submission Assignment
To successfully complete AVIA 315 and receive a 14 CFR 141 ground graduation certificate, the student must complete all the training elements included in this course, and the FAA Commercial Written Exam test must be passed with a minimum score of 70%.
Alternative TCO Completion Standards: Pilots who already hold the respective certificate or rating of this course are not eligible to retake the FAA written exam. Instead, pilots who have earned their instrument and/or commercial rating may submit their FAA certificate and the results of three practice exams to the professor. The three practice exams will be averaged together to receive earned points for this assignment. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H)
