Goodlatte was welcomed by President Jerry Falwell, and LUCOM founding faculty Eric Gish, D.O., associate dean for Clinical Affairs, and Timothy Leonard, Ph.D., associate dean for Biomedical Affairs and Research. The congressman toured the 144,000-square-foot building, including the comprehensively equipped Anatomy Lab, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Lab, Medical Library, and the Center for Standardized Patients and Simulation Lab. Goodlatte was very impressed with LUCOM, noting that it is yet another demonstration of Liberty’s commitment to excellence.

“It more than met my expectations,” Goodlatte said. “It is great to see what this (school) is going to do — the opportunity for students to have a very modern medical education and to be able to take that anywhere in the world.”
