Centra Health Systems

Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) seeks to develop educational partnerships with regional healthcare systems which share similar visions and missions for delivery of health to the communities we serve.

Centra is a 508-bed multispecialty hospital system comprised of Lynchburg General Hospital and Virginia Baptist Hospital, in Lynchburg, and Southside Hospital located in Farmville. Through an agreement, Centra is set to provide significant clinical training opportunities for LUCOM student doctors.

Receiving several accolades throughout the years, Centra is dedicated to providing quality patient care. A specific recognition is the certification by the Joint Commission as an Acute Heart Attack Center and a Primary Stroke Center. Centra Health Systems is also rated among the top hospitals several years in a row for their attention to patient satisfaction. Additionally, the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center has received full accreditation with commendation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
