The decision to become a doctor may come easy to some, but the journey itself can be overwhelming. That’s why Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) is offering prospective students a chance to learn more about the process of preparing for and applying to medical school and the opportunity to have all of their questions answered.
On October 1, LUCOM will welcome members of the public to an open house tailored to individuals who want to learn more about LUCOM’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program and the osteopathic profession. Attendees will hear about admission requirements, learn about the curriculum and class formats, a brief history and philosophy of the osteopathic profession, and receive a tour of the Center for Medical and Health Sciences. They can also meet current student-doctors as well as hear a message from Ronnie B. Martin, D.O., Dean of LUCOM.
“We hope prospective students take away a lot of important information from their evening at LUCOM, including a greater awareness of Osteopathic Medicine and its impact, along with a better understanding of what it takes to enter into and be successful while in medical school,” said Cassie Morgan, LUCOM Director of Admissions and Student Services.
The LUCOM Open House is Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Center for Medical Health Sciences, located at 306 Liberty View Lane, Lynchburg, Va.
