Senior Associate Dean; Professor of Internal Medicine

Dr. Anthony L. Martin serves as Senior Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM), where he provides strategic leadership in undergraduate medical education, curriculum development, and student success initiatives.

Dr. Martin is a board-certified internist and Fellow of the American College of Physicians with a distinguished career spanning clinical practice and academic medicine. He previously served as Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs at Marian University’s Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he led efforts in curriculum innovation, faculty development, and the expansion of clinical training programs. His leadership has consistently focused on advancing osteopathic medical education and preparing practice-ready physicians.

In addition to his academic leadership, Dr. Martin has held significant roles in clinical medicine, including serving as Medical Staff President at Ascension St. Vincent, the first osteopathic physician to hold this position in the organization’s 100-year history. He also served as Chief of Staff at Georgetown Community Hospital. His clinical and administrative experience informs his work in designing educational systems that align with the realities of modern healthcare delivery.

He is particularly focused on developing structured, data-informed approaches to student success and aligning medical education with national standards and board readiness outcomes.

Grounded in his Christian faith, Dr. Martin is committed to serving others with integrity, compassion, and purpose. His faith informs his approach to leadership, education, and patient care. He also has a strong interest in medical missions and the role of service in addressing healthcare disparities both locally and globally.
