As part of our commitment to modernize services and improve overall user experience, the university is transitioning from ASIST (SSB8) to the new Banner 9 Self-Service (SSB9) on November 16, 2025.

With this transition, all former ASIST modules will be fully integrated into myLU. The upgrade provides more streamlined access to essential tools, enabling students, faculty, and staff to manage registration, financial aid, academic records, and other tasks in one convenient location. SSB9 represents a major advancement in delivering efficient, user-focused digital tools across campus.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will ASIST be retired?
ASIST will be retired on November 16, 2025.

Why is ASIST going away?
Ellucian, our vendor, will stop supporting ASIST (SSB8) after December 31, 2025. To ensure continued support and access to the latest features, we’re transitioning to the updated version, Banner 9 Self-Service (SSB9).

Can I still use ASIST during the transition?
Yes, ASIST will remain available until November 16, 2025. After that date, access will be removed as we fully transition to Banner 9 Self-Service (SSB9).

Will I need training to use SSB9?
While training is optional, you are welcome to utilize the available training resources to become more familiar with the new system and its features.

Will my information from ASIST still be available in SSB9?
Yes. Both ASIST and SSB9 pull data from the same system, so your information will still be available in SSB9.

What if I have multiple roles (e.g., student and employee)?
If you have multiple roles, such as being both a student and an employee, your access and permissions will carry over to SSB9. Everything you could access in ASIST (SSB8) will still be available in SSB9.

Do I need to install anything to use SSB9?
No installation is required. SSB9 is web-based and accessible through myLU on any browser on desktop or mobile devices.

Where can I locate the links that were previously available in ASIST (SSB8) but are not currently visible in SSB9
If a link you previously accessed in ASIST (SSB8) isn’t available in SSB9, try using the myLU search feature. Simply enter the name of the product or service you’re looking for, and the search should guide you to the correct page or resource.
