Coordinator’s Welcome

Welcome! My name is Chris Nelson, Coordinator for the Liberty University Summer Arts Program. If you have a student interested in participating in a theatre camp this summer, you’ve come to the right place. Over the years, we have worked hard to continue the mission of providing a safe environment for students to train, excel and experience the performing arts.

Our Liberty University Theatre Camps (LUTC) program, which includes our elementary and middle school day camps, will start off the summer. These day camps provide local students with an opportunity to spend a week or more with us learning the ins and outs of theatre. Within the rehearsal process, students learn vital lessons in team building, responsibility, and self-confidence. KIDS Ignite will teach students how to communicate the gospel using drama ministry and encourage them to get excited about sharing the loving message of Christ.

The summer will conclude with Acting Uncut, a residential high school experience where students from all over the United States and the world spend 9 days with us here at Liberty in a challenging and rigorous program with two tracks: onstage and backstage. All students will interact with Liberty Theatre faculty in small master classes, collaborate with current theatre majors, experience Liberty University up close and personal, and enjoy the freedom to integrate faith and art. Students enrolled in the onstage track will perform a final performance cabaret, while students in the backstage track will help produce and manage it. At Acting Uncut, students form lasting friendships and refine the talents that God has given them.

Registration is now open for all programs, and more details will be added to the website as the year progresses.
