Carl R. Hoegerl, DO

Dr. Hoegerl serves as Chair and Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Department of Internal Medicine. He graduated in 2001 from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship at Geisinger Medical Center with residency training at Guthrie/Robert Packer Hospital and SUNY Stony Brook. Since completing training, Dr. Hoegerl has worked at Geisinger Medical Center as the director of the MS clinic there for the past 6 ½ years.
While at Geisinger, Dr. Hoegerl was a member of the stroke team, participated in research, was the director of education for the Department of Neurology and served as associate program director for the residency program. In addition, Dr. Hoegerl has written and participated in several research papers, as well as, written a neurology handbook to help students learn the field of neurology.
Dr. Hoegerl has two small children and a very loving and supportive wife, Seeniann, who serves as a physician and practices gastroenterology. According to Dr. Hoegerl, he is excited to have joined Liberty. "To be at a Christian centered university teaching osteopathic medicine is a dream come true and very important to our family."
