Prism: The Nature of Transparency

“Prism: The Nature of Transparency” featured work by Christopher and Kelsey Phillips, faculty members in the Studio & Digital Arts department. The exhibit honored the completion of their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degrees.
A prism refracts light, requires polishing, and allows the spectrum of color to be seen. Though their processes begin similarly, the end result is a vastly different voice.
Christopher’s work is highly imaginative with respect to the use of color and light. With these dynamics, the artist’s work invites an emotional response from the viewer and allows one to visualize and experience the artwork on a personal level.
Kelsey’s work specializes in detailed and intricate florals with lush color combinations. Each piece integrates nature and whimsy.
