Best practices for our students
Keep a balance in life. You will have more work than your friends in other disciplines on campus, so you will need to develop work habits and a thinking process that organizes, analyzes, and prioritizes your work. Also, learning comes in three modes: by yourself, with another student, and in a small study group of three to five people. Engineers never work alone in real jobs, so you and your cohort student group need to learn to work together.
Required GPA for our engineering graduate school
3.0 GPA minimum
GRE for the engineering graduate program
Although not required, we recommend taking the GRE for garnering grants and scholarships.
Master’s Degree – non-thesis and a thesis program
Our non-thesis program is 30 credit hours, and the thesis program includes six additional credit hours for research.
“Direct admit” into our Ph.D. program without a Master’s degree
You can do a “direct admit” Ph.D. program right from your BS degree. You need 63 credit hours beyond your B.S. degree for the Ph.D.
New engineering building
The upper administration of Liberty University is working on a plan for more space for engineering. The building is still being designed and evaluated.
