Schedule of Reduction Annual Loan Amounts

Choose your program level and grade level (if applicable) below to determine your annual loan eligibility, based on the number of credit hours you plan to attend in a given academic year.

Undergraduate students: If you need assistance determining your dependency status, please review the U.S. Department of Education’s webpage.

Important Reminders:

  • Students offered Federal Direct Loans must be enrolled and attending at least half time before funds can be disbursed to their account.
  • Students who plan to attend more than one semester in the academic year must attend the equivalent of 2 semesters at a full-time enrollment status to be eligible for their full annual loan amount.
  • The amounts provided are estimates solely based on the standard annual federal loan limits.
  • Students who attend only one semester during the academic year may receive no more than 50% of their annual loan eligibility for that semester.
  • These amounts do not take into account if a student is near or has met their aggregate loan limit, or if a student’s cost of attendance does not allow for their full annual eligibility to be offered to them. Students should always refer to their Financial Aid Offer for information about their loan eligibility.
  • The amounts listed in the Undergraduate Dependent and Undergraduate Independent sections are the total annual limit. Depending on the student’s actual need, their loan eligibility may be a combination of subsidized and unsubsidized student loans. Graduate and Doctoral students are only eligible to receive unsubsidized student loans.
