Staff Commendation or Complaint

LUPD Staff Commendation:

To commend or compliment the performance of a Liberty University Police Department, notify the Professional Standards division by:

• Visiting the Police Department at Green Hall T725
• Calling the Liberty University PD’s non-emergency number at (434) 592-7641.
• Mailing comments to Liberty University Police Department at LUPD 1971 University Blvd, Lynchburg, Virginia 24515
• Email the LUPD Office of Professional Standards with the LUPD Staff Commendation Form (PDF): LUPDProfessionalstandards@liberty.edu.

When a commendation is received verbally or by mail, this information is forwarded through the chain of command to the Chief of Police. Letters of commendation from citizens are often posted for all employees to view. The Police Department and its employees appreciate the effort and consideration that citizens demonstrate by the taking the time to commend employee performance.

LUPD Staff Complaint:

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of police conduct, you can make a complaint. Some complaints, such as rudeness or discourtesy, will normally be handled by the officer’s supervisor or division Lieutenant. Complaints deemed to be serious will be handled by the Professional Standards Division with the assistance of the Investigations Division.
