When it comes to the Barnes & Noble bookstore here at Liberty University, you may have a few questions. We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions that should give you the answers you need. If we missed any questions, please contact Barnes & Noble at (434) 582-2316.


Frequently Asked Questions

  • TEXTBOOK PURCHASES: The process for ordering online is easy! Please follow these simple steps below to place your textbook order:
    • Log in to your ASIST account through My LU account
    • Click the Registration option
    • Click on My Books
    • Click the Student option.
    • Click on Get Books
    • Select the appropriate link for purchasing books. “Resident Bookstore” will be for students on-campus taking classes and picking up their orders in-store. “Liberty Online Book Store” will be for online students ordering their materials.
  • TEXTBOOK RENTALS: When shopping for textbooks in-store, the course information tag will display a “Rental” option. If you’re shopping online, it’s even easier. Many books display a RENTAL option, along with NEW and USED options. Just pick one that’s right for you.
  • BOOK DOLLARS/VOUCHERS: If you have Book Dollars/Book Vouchers and wish to use those as a method of payment for your online textbook order, please select ‘Book Dollars/Vouchers on the checkout page and enter your Student ID number (without the preceding ‘L’). Please note that we will exhaust all Book Dollar/Book Voucher funds before processing any remaining balance to a secondary method of payment placed on the order, such as a credit or debit card.   • ORDER FULFILLMENT: The estimated total that you see when completing your order is an approximate total based on the preferred textbook condition that you selected (new, used, rental, etc). The estimated total may be adjusted based on inventory availability when we process your order, as inventory is applied on a first come first served basis. Payment is processed at the time that your books are pulled off the shelf and boxed for pick-up or shipping. At that time, you will receive an electronic copy of your invoice that will detail fulfilled textbook condition as well as how the payment for your order was applied.
  • REFUNDS/EXCHANGES: Textbook refunds and exchanges may be done on the second level of the Bookstore. We have extended our deadline for refunds and exchanges to Friday, January 29th  to not only allow for reduced store traffic, but also for the adjustments made to the start of in-person instruction.   • LIBERTY ONLINE COURSE MATERIALS: As the official residential bookstore, we carry only residential course materials. If you are an LUO student looking for your course materials, please visit our partner,  BNC Virtual.
  • LIBERTY ONLINE VOUCHER PURCHASES: If you are an LUO student wishing to purchase school supplies, or school spirit merchandise with financial aid, please email  StudentAccounts@liberty.edu to request a ‘residential book voucher.’
  • DIGITAL PURCHASES: Buying digital material is just as easy as buying a printed textbook or bundle. Just shop in-store or  purchase digital material here. ‘Digital’ will appear as a textbook option whenever a digital option is available. Whether you buy in-store or online, once your material is available you will receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to access your digital material.
    Once your payment is processed, you will receive an email from bookstorecustomercare@bncollege.com  and can begin to access your content immediately from the My Digital Content link on the bookstore website. Log in using the same email address and password you used when purchasing your digital material. If you purchased in-store, use the email address you provided when checking out and the temporary password in your Welcome email. If you do not know your password, select Forgot Password.
    If you did not receive your digital material delivery email, please ensure you are checking the same email account used when purchasing your digital materials online. Check your junk and spam folders for your Digital Learning email from bookstorecustomercare@bncollege.com.
    If you purchased your digital material using Financial Aid, your material will not be available until the order has been processed. Order processing can be delayed until the aid is available. For questions about your financial aid order, please contact us.
    If you still need further assistance, or think you misspelled your email address, please visit customercare.bncollege.com to submit a ticket to Customer Care.
  • STORE HOURS: Please visit our website to view specific dates and times.
  • TEXTBOOK BUYBACK: You can go online to  www.mbsdirect.net/liberty and select Sell Books, to sell back books remotely. We will resume in-store buyback at the bookstore on Monday, August 31st.
