Operation Christmas Child
Club Mission Statement
The world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child, uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered over 244 million shoeboxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories.
What To Expect as a Member
The OCC club at Liberty University meets on a bi-weekly basis throughout the fall semester. Work for this club is done throughout the fall semester, culminating in early-to-mid-November with collections, cartonizing, and a campus-wide packing party! Additional work done during the semester includes tabling at club and CSER expos, distribution of shoeboxes around campus and at Campus Community, collection of shoeboxes, cartonizing shoeboxes, small packing parties, and more.
Participants can expect to gain skills in leadership and communication through helping promote the packing of shoeboxes as well as their collection.
Club Accomplishments
Over the past three years, Liberty University has packed more than 4,000 shoeboxes.
