Liberty University Improv Team

Club Mission Statement

Our goal is simply to bring some laughter to people. Whether it’s at or with us, that’s ok. We believe God gave us laughter, that it is powerful, and that it can be worship. God is crazy good, and we seek to show that through improv and other forms of comedy.

What to Expect as a Member

Members of the team are required to attend a 2-hour rehearsal once a week and perform in shows about once a month (and wear a matching t-shirt with us, but they’re pretty cool shirts.) The group focuses on learning the methods of both long- and short-form improv and rehearsals are centered on creating ridiculousness with a group of ridiculously creative people. It’s a supportive environment to stretch and hone a love for comedy (some of the team does standup and sketch writing as well.) Give it a try! You have nothing to lose but maybe a little bit of dignity, but it’s worth it.

Club Accomplishments

We have put on around 12 free shows to students since starting in 2016 and held multiple open rehearsals for those looking to learn about improv. Our shows are ridiculous and pretty darn sick in our pretty biased opinions.

Additional Club Information

Each Fall, auditions are held and anyone, regardless of experience, is encouraged to try out! We coach new people, we just need new people! A team of 8-10 is created and for those still interested in learning improv, once a month open rehearsals or “jams” are held.
