LU Safe Ride Program

Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) offers a service in which anyone may call LUPD Non-Emergency Number to request an escort. This is done in the interest of maintaining the highest level of safety for the University Community.

Please bear in mind that LUPD is not a medical transport agency. This means that LUPD will not transport individuals to the hospital under any circumstances.

For emergency hospital transportation, please call 3911 and request medical transportation to be sent to your location.

Request a SafeRide

  1. Call LUPD (434) 592-7641
  2. Give your name, LU ID# (if applicable), and location
  3. Wait in a well-lit area, that you feel comfortable
  4. When LUPD arrives, give them your LU ID and the location you need to get to.

Keep in mind that LUPD Safe Ride is not a taxi service and should be used only if your safety is a concern. Officers may choose to escort you on foot.
