Military Emphasis Week (MEW)
Military Emphasis Week 2020
Military Emphasis Week (MEW) raises awareness and appreciation for those who have served and are serving in the United States military. Our founder, the late Dr. Jerry Falwell, led Liberty University by example, demonstrating the consistency of Christianity, patriotism, and love of country. Military Emphasis Week seeks to carry on this legacy. Once a one-day event on campus, Military Emphasis Week has been expanded to a week-long celebration in order to give greater visibility, support and recognition to our military and veterans. Events are planned throughout campus during this week to show appreciation for the men and women who have served and are serving this great nation.
Schedule of Events: November 8 – November 14
#HonorThem on Social Media
We invite the Liberty community to celebrate and share, using shout outs, personal stories, photos or videos about the veterans in their lives on Facebook and Yammer using the hashtag #HonorThem. The Office of Military Affairs may feature your story throughout the week!
Date: Sunday, November 8 – Saturday, November 14

In 2012, Liberty awarded Lee the George Rogers Champion of Freedom Award, given annually to a veteran who displayed extraordinary heroism while serving.
