Program Expectations & Advising Resources for the M.A.T. in Special Education: Adapted Curriculum Special Education and Early Childhood Special Education, with CTE, Licensure
The M.A.T. in Special Education: Adapted Curriculum Special Education and Early Childhood Special Education, with Career & Technical (CTE) Transition Add-On is designed for individuals who do not have an initial teaching license. This is the perfect program for individuals interested in earning licensure endorsements in the following two areas:
- Adapted Curriculum Special Education (K – 12th Grade)
- Early Childhood Special Education (Ages 2 – 5)
Field experience requirements will be completed early and often in the field of special education and culminate in two 16-week student teaching semesters. Licensure in the state of Virginia requires that you meet all necessary criteria.
Upon successful completion of Liberty University’s Virginia state-approved M.A.T. program, you may apply for your teaching license in another state through reciprocity, which may or may not result in additional requirements based on your state’s Department of Education regulations.
