Residential Unmanned Aerial Systems Operator Minor
Develop the skills necessary to operate Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) safely, ethically, and legally with Liberty University’s Unmanned Aerial Systems Minor. Through the School of Aeronautics’ Small UAS training curriculum, you’ll have the opportunity to earn your Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Certification.
Learn from faculty with extensive civilian, military, and contractor UAS experience.
Combine academic instruction with hands-on flight training, including opportunities to support UAS operations on campus and during university events. Training platforms include DJI Mavic, Matrice, and Avata aircraft, as well as the Sydio R10.
This minor is open to students from any major.
Learn How To:
- Operate unmanned aircraft within the national airspace system
- Apply FAA regulations and professional flight procedures
- Fly UAS manually and conduct autonomous missions
- Identify operational risks and implement safe practices
