M.A. in Counseling, Liberty University
M.A. in Theological Studies, Liberty University (working towards)
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and was saved in my home church when I was 15 years old in 1968.
After finishing high school, I attended Bob Jones University for two years and then transferred to Liberty University (Lynchburg Baptist College) in 1972. I graduated in 1975 with a B.S. in Youth Ministries and a minor in Speech and Psychology. After graduating, I worked for the Office of Student Affairs here at Liberty as a Dorm Supervisor and also as the Assistant Dean of Women for several years. We left Lynchburg in 1979.
I am married to David Benoit – also a Liberty graduate. We married in 1977 and celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in June of 2007. We have two children, Brandon – 28, and Lindsay – 25. Brandon works in marketing for NBC-TV in Roanoke, Virginia, and Lindsay lives in Chicago and is manager of a hair salon. She is a hairdresser.
David and I have been in ministry for almost thirty years. He is an evangelist. We have lived in several states during our ministry including, California, Oregon, Washington, North Carolina and Texas.
We moved back to Lynchburg in 2001 from Dallas, Texas. When we moved back I began my master’s degree. I finished in 2005 with a M.A. in Counseling from Liberty.
I started teaching Women in Ministry, in the fall of 2005 in the School of Religion here at Liberty. In January 2006, I joined the FACS Department teaching two classes - Contemporary Family and Parenting.
In the fall of 2006, I started work on another master’s degree. I am currently working on my M.A. in Theological Studies. My goal is to eventually get my D.Min. through the Seminary.
For the fall of 2007, I am scheduled to teach two sections of Parenting for the FACS Department and two sections of Women in Ministry for the School of Religion.
