In this program, you’ll explore the history of U.S.-based and global emergency responses as well as the unique role of the church and faith-based NGOs in handling these crises. With courses in crisis and first responder training, intercultural communication, and human rights law, this degree includes ample opportunity for you to gain practical, hands-on skills.

Within the women’s and children’s advocacy specialization, you can learn specifically how to protect the rights and safety of women and children – including those who fall within other vulnerable sectors of the population. By learning about the numerous multicultural issues that often intersect with women’s and children’s advocacy – such as social stratification, group marginalization, racial/ethnic identities, gender inequality, and disability discrimination – you can become better equipped to aid the suffering in your community – and beyond.
