Protect the Rights of Women and Children Around the World with an M.A. in Humanitarian Action and Human Rights – Women’s and Children’s Care and Advocacy

Women and children face unique challenges that often leave them vulnerable to oppression and exploitation. Liberty’s online Master of Arts (M.A.) in Humanitarian Action and Human Rights – Women’s and Children’s Care and Advocacy can help equip you to protect and assist women and children who are facing dangerous situations and human rights violations.

Whether you want to shape human rights policy or serve on the front lines helping people in crisis, this degree can provide the training you need to handle major humanitarian challenges in a manner that is grounded in biblical truth. In particular, you can prepare to address issues that are especially pertinent to women and children – including human trafficking, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, and the sanctity of human life. Our goal is to help you minister to the hurting and oppressed through a strong foundation in Scripture and advocacy skills.

Partner with us and prepare to help women and children around the world work toward a brighter, safer future.

What Will You Study in Liberty University’s Master’s in Humanitarian Action and Human Rights – Women’s and Children’s Care and Advocacy?

  • Interventions made to support women and children in crisis
  • Theological foundations for humanitarian action and human rights
  • Various protection systems used to aid women, children, and vulnerable populations
  • Ways that the church and faith-based non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can assist women and children who are facing the dark reality of abandonment, exploitation, and abuse

In this program, you’ll explore the history of U.S.-based and global emergency responses as well as the unique role of the church and faith-based NGOs in handling these crises. You’ll also examine how to steer and guide civil society, government, and international institutions toward using their power to protect and advance the rights of the oppressed. With courses in crisis and first responder training, intercultural communication, and human rights law, this degree includes ample opportunity for you to gain practical, hands-on skills.

Within the women’s and children’s advocacy specialization, you can learn specifically how to protect the rights and safety of women and children – including those who fall within other vulnerable sectors of the population. By learning about the numerous multicultural issues that often intersect with women’s and children’s advocacy – such as social stratification, group marginalization, racial/ethnic identities, gender inequality, and disability discrimination – you can become better equipped to aid the suffering in your community – and beyond.
